Breaking ground in the corner garden! The vision for this garden (2.3 acres) is that the BCS will be the only tractor-like machine we utilize. We have multiple implements for this tool, but the majority of tasks will be completed with hand tools.
Additionally, one of the second year apprentices has also purchased some steer calves from the farm and is training them as oxen. Her hope is that they will get their first taste of work hauling vegetable this summer.
Before anything else can happen though, we must till these entire 2.3 acres with the BCS, which means many passes back and forth, carefully overlapping in the trench to make sure everything is tilled. It is rewarding, yet somewhat tedious, and best accomplished with a set of headphones and a vision for its future purpose.
